A DIFFERENT TAKE ON BREAKFAST

Remember when family restaurants doubled as a meeting spot for those in the community who enjoyed talking in the morning? A cup of coffee turned into a morning of laughter and jokes with any and everyone who had time to slow down and stop in. Well, those days are back thanks to Larry and Regina Lane.

Their new restaurant, Miss O’s, located in the Garfield Shopping Center brings back the feeling of old with a blend of something new.

Breakfast has always been a special time for eating. On the weekends in Northeast Ohio, you can wait an hour for a table at your local breakfast spot. Lane has an opportunity to bring his latest vision to life and fill a void. Miss O’s is completely redesigned and refreshed for the public.

The food selections and menu options are classics with a fresh spin on exciting items that anyone will enjoy. Miss O’s also offers evening food after the breakfast rush has passed.

“We just added walleye Friday fish fry at Mrs. O’s starting at 6 PM. We also have live music come check us out,” Lane said.

He is not new to the restaurant business. Lane has owned and run businesses all around Cleveland for years and owns other businesses within the Garfield Shopping Center. The theater attached to the restaurant is owned by Lane and hosts events and movies their throughout the week.

“Our goal here is to provide the community with a thriving place to come and have a good time.” Lane continued, “We want everyone to feel welcome when they are here so we have provided a little bit of something for everyone to ensure that we keep the community close like it used to be.”

Lane has always been active in his community. For the 2024 election, Lane is assisting with the get-out-to-vote campaign and works with city officials in both Maple Heights and in Garfield to ensure that the next presidential election has as many registered voters going to the polls as possible.

Lane and his wife have several other goals that they would like to accomplish for the local community. His purpose has always been to be a leader in the community. Lane’s crusade to improve the lives of Black people runs deep in his blood and in his family.

We are also on a mission to bring Black men back into the classroom,” Lane said. “Black boys need to see themselves in the classroom if they are going to excel so we need to make sure that we recruit, train, and employ as many Black men as possible if our boys are going to make it in school.”

These are the conversations that can be heard by those who visit the restaurant in the morning and during the day. Good food and debate are the bedrock of any community restaurant and meeting space and so far the space has been filled with people.

Miss O’s is located at 21672 Rockside Road, Garfield Heights, Ohio.

“We have been very fortunate that the community has come out to support the businesses that are here. We hope that they appreciate the time and commitment that we have made to making Miss O’s a first-class eatery,” Lane said.

And the community has. Since the restaurant opened at the end of August it has seen a steady flow of business. The location, 21672 Rockside Road, Garfield Heights, sits perfectly for the communities that surround it.

The Lane plans to have other events and functions at the restaurant for those who need a place for receptions, business events, and meetings.

“We want to be a place where everyone can come to celebrate whatever they are doing,” Lane said.

In 2024 Miss O’s has brought back the memories of the feeling of community, good food, and better conversation. And it couldn’t have happened at a better time. To learn more call the restaurant at 216-438-7157. ●
